World Book Day 2023
The children in Owls enjoyed reading to the younger children as part of our World Book Day celebrations. The children in Hedgehogs particulary enjoyed having their favroutie stories read to them by the older children.
Advent
As part of our Christingle service in St Margaret's Church, a Year 6 pupil got to light the candle for Advent. Advent is the period of preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas and also of preparation for the Second Coming of Christ.

Forest Schools
Year 5 and 6 enjoy thier forest school sessions. The children created their own stick superheroes with their very own superpowers. The powers varied from invisibility to super strength!

In English, they have looked at non-chronological reports and used emperor penguins as the base for their reports. Part of this was the daily comparison of the temperature in Antarctica compared to Wellington; the children were shocked to see that on one day the temperature in Antarctica was -80 degrees F.
In maths, they recapped on their learning throughout the year and used this opportunity to deepen their understanding connected to the different areas within maths.
Owls class enjoyed trips out to Queenswood and the Year 6 Leavers enjoyed a mornign at The Grove Golf and Bowl, where they had great fun and a lovely lunch.
The science day was really exciting! They watched and took part in a science friction show, had fun with crazy chemistry and made rockets and helicopters.
The Summer disco was great fun and full of lots of energetic activities, one pupil was heard to say “this is the best disco ever” – high praise indeed.
Carnival and fete day was a real success and Mrs Blower was extremely proud of everyone in Owls for all the hard work they did to create and manage their stalls.
